The application visualizes the urban tree population and the specific water requirements of the trees. This allows the dedicated watering community to see at a glance which trees need how much water and to enter their watering directly. This simplifies the coordination of watering within the neighborhood as well as with the administration.
Urban trees are suffering more and more from changing climatic conditions, while at the same time water is becoming an increasingly scarce resource. This situation is presenting the responsible green space authorities with ever greater challenges. Committed citizens are keen to get involved and are already actively doing so. The app not only enables transparent participation, but also motivates people to get active together to help urban trees. In Berlin alone, almost two million liters have been poured on a voluntary basis since the app was launched (as of February 2024).
Since the project launch four years ago, our team has already advised several cities on their own implementation.With Deine Stadt gießt, we now officially offer a full service to support cities and municipalities in implementing the watering app.All we need for this is the municipal tree data (tree register).We take care of the technical setup and enable individual configuration (logo, FAQ, imprint, etc.).The operation of the app, i.e. everything to do with updates and support, as well as costs for external services, are included for the first year.
